♥ Panic At the Disco, Rod Laver Arena 23 08 08
This is my 21st post... how pathetic!! Anyways...
I remembered buying tickets for PATD, it was early April, and I was tearing at the sight of the comcert promo in the newspaper. Now, 4 and 1/2 months later, the concert finally arrived!!
Opening bands:
1) Black and White
2) Cobra Starship
3) The Academy Is... (TAI)
We were at Rod Laver Arena about 2 hours before the concert started, and there were surprisingly not many people! Which was good, because it allowed us to be really close to the stage in the mosh pit. BUT! thanks to the crazy moshing people, we were gradually being pushed back and ended up at the back of the moshing crowd. Which was ok, since there weren't many people in the mosh pit anyways (sadly for the bands). After the opening bands, we were tired of being squashed to our deaths, and VERY thirsty, so we made our way out of the crowd and bought very over priced drinks before heading back to the back of the pit. YOU KNOW WHAT! The view was much better at the back, caz the pit was small in the first place, and it was not crowded at all! I've never screamed so much in my life, my throat is gonna be sore tomorrow, and I might have done enough jumping to give me leg cramps tomorrow. But of course it was all worth it:)
BLACK AND WHITE:
Whoever they were, they won't be very famous after this, caz they weren't all that exciting. But it could have been worse... it could have been Miley Cyrus instead.
COBRA STARSHIP:
- Gabe Saporta (vocals) is probably one of the sexiest lead singers alive. He really got the crowd worked up and alive with his dance-inducing vocals and HOTHOTHOT hip grinding actions in his HOTHOTTHOT white pants.
- Although I only knew two songs, Guilty Pleasure, and Snakes on A Plane (Bring It), the other songs are awesome, and I am sooo gonna dl all the others, which included Smile for the Paparazzi, Hollaback Boy etc etc... Snakes on A Plane (Bring It), the duet sung by Cobra and TAI, was probably my favourite song of the night, because they sound awesome individually and even better together.
YAY COBRA STARHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO
TAI and Cobra are best friends btw...
THE ACADEMY IS...:
- So after watching hundreds of their videos on youtube, and listening to their songs on repeat, I must say it was worth doing so, becaz being able to sing along with them was unreal
- William Beckett (vocals) sounds better in person than on record, and he's way cuter. I remember watching him sing Everything We Had and the first word that came to my mind was: Angel. He can really really sing, and did his signature 'jump on the drum' move... MARRY ME BILL!!!
-Sisky Business (Bass) looks ok on film and in pictures, but tonight, he looks better than ever. I was pleasently surprised.
- I watched The Butcher (drummer) quite a fair bit during their performances, staring at his tattoos, and watching him rock those drums like crazy. His movements were almost hypnotic haha.
- And before we entered the stadium I spotted Jack the Camera guy and took a picture with him. I've been watching something called TAI TV, which is a youtube video series about the daily lives of TAI. The person who films it all is the wonderful Jack, and it was nice to see that he was getting some of the fan action he needed. I was hoping that he would come out and film a TAI TV episode and he did! If you don't know what to watch on youtube, TAI TV's your answer, even if you don't like the band, caz they are pretty funny:)
-Songs played were: Slow Down, We've got a big mess, Everything We Had, Checkmarks, The Phrase That Pays (my fave), About A Girl, Summer Hair = Forever Young.
People who haven't heard of the band before should definately start! Caz they are THE SHIZZZZZ!!!
PANIC AT THE DISCO:
- Most fun to sing along to, screamed heaps and heaps for them, awesome stage props, great vocals and music, great bunch of guys, loadssss of talent. No surprise of course.
- Ryan Ross (guitar + vocals) has such a sweet voice, and everytime he speaks or sings a solo, I melt a little inside. And he's mighty cute too. I think we can call him frontman no. 2 now!
-Brandon Urie (frontman, vocals, guitar) makes me cry. In the older videos on youtube, he doesn't sound that nice, but they more he sings, the better he seems to get. Time To Dance, is actually a fast paced song, but when he did a solo acoustic for it, it was probably the best version of the song i've ever heard.
But Lying is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off, and I Write Sins Not Tragedies was definately the most crowd pleasing. Although they didn't play their other songs which i liked.
- To me they played for a very short while (1 hour 15 mins plus). Even the MCR concert was slightly longer (2 hrs), and people said that was short! I wish they played more songs!
There had a big screen behind them showing gorgeous artistic backgrounds, and pictures of anatomy of the cow, dog and horse, just caz they love Vet students so much hahaha! The stage was well decorated:) I am pleased!
- After the show, we saw a group of girls screaming and crowding aroung railings, so we went to kepo abit. After a long wait, Panic finally emerged, and we waved and screamed. All of them waved, but Brandon waved in our direction, and kissed the window from inside the car. AWWWWWWWWWWWW WE LOVE YOU TOO!
AHHHH bed time!! Thanks to the girls for awesome concert company! I hope the bands had fun too:)
